Shop Talk: Measuring and Marking Tools

All Saratoga Joinery members are invited to come to the shop for an expert-led presentation followed by open discussion and problem solving. Members are encouraged to bring questions and/or projects that they'd like to share or get assistance on.

  • Topic: Measuring and Marking Tools - This will be a discussion meant for even the most inexperienced members. This will go way beyond tape measure and pencil, taking the group through the various marking and measuring tools that the Joinery has available, how and when to use them to optimize the accuracy of your work. This will be a group discussion lead by Board Member Eric Diem. We will discuss various marking gauges, various types of squares, the importance of using a consistent reference surface and measuring tool, when to mark without measuring, and how to avoid introducing error in your project layout.

If you've got a topic idea or would like to present, let us know! Contact info@saratogajoinery.org.

This is a free event. Registration is required.
