Saratoga Joinery

This class is for ages 12-14 only.

Over 5 two-hour sessions, students ages 12-14 will work independently under the guidance of educator Preston Sweeney to create a splayed leg end table.

Given a plan and templates, students will create a splayed leg end table. Participants will cut, shape, assemble, and finish using a variety of woodworking tools, machines and techniques. This project will also reinforce math skills, tool safety, and problem-solving.

No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and create. All materials and safety equipment will be provided. Spaces are limited, so sign up today for this fun and rewarding experience!

About the Instructor:

Preston Sweeney is a middle school engineering/technical trades teacher at Maple Avenue Middle School. He is grateful to be a part of the Saratoga Joinery team and excited for the opportunities the organization will offer people to gain experience in the world of woodworking. Preston has a true passion for all things woodworking as well as collecting vintage tools.
