Saratoga Joinery

All Saratoga Joinery members are invited to come to the shop for an expert-led presentation followed by open discussion and problem solving. Members are encouraged to bring questions and/or projects that they'd like to share or get assistance on.

• Topic: Snipe Bills, Rounds, and Hollows - Oh My!
  Michael Gorchov will demonstrate how traditional molding planes are used to create classic profiles by hand. The session will include hands-on use of snipe bills, rounds, and hollows, along with strategies for layout, waste removal, and delicate edge preservation. Techniques like shoulder rabbets for fillets and marking gauge setup will be covered. A great intro for anyone curious about period-accurate moldings or expanding their hand tool practice.
